Hello,
I have around 50 hard disks accumulated over the past 5 years. They range from 40 GB IDE drives to 500 GB SATA drives.
In total these 50 hard disks are 5.5 TB. In today's world the data from these 50 hard disks will fit onto 3 x 2 TB disks.
I would like to do just this, copy them over to 3 x 2 TB disks.
35 of these disks are IDE disks. 5 of them are USB disks, with sealed cases and the rest of the 10 are SATA disks.
Most of the files are very very small files, few kilo bytes each. So there is a large quantum of files spread across these 50 drives.
Would Norton Ghost do the copy job fast? If I had a dedicated machine for this job, such that it contains IDE, SATA and USB 2.0 ports how much time would Norton Ghost take? Is there any recommendation for this machine?
At our current estimate, it will take 6 months with a Windows drag and drop operation.
Regards,
Milan.
