My latest scan indicates we have the trojanbyteverify virus. The scan message says 'removal failed"...I have followed instructions (turning off system restore, running live update for the latest version, removing older versions of Java) to no avail. Please advise.

I assume you have the latest Java installed now. Please go to the Java Icon in control panel and go to the Temporary Files part. Empty out the temp files and uncheck keep temporary files on my computer.
What is the path of the infected files?
