A recent idle full system scan came up with what it termed a virus, rmctools.dll (Trojan.Gen.2) The path was C:\program files (x86)\sminst\rmctools.dll. Norton said that it was removed. I ran another full system scan that came up with nothing found. I've never had anything but tracking cookies before.
The affected computer is a wired HP desktop running Vista 64 bit. The only antivirus installed is Norton 360 Ver. 21. The are no other scanners on the computer. It is used solely for checking two financial websites, one major bank and one major credit card. No email or web browsing is done on that computer.
It seems to me that either this is a false positive or I picked up something on one of those two websites. Can I assume that since Norton removed it I'm okay or should I be concerned and take further action? Are my banking/credit card accounts at risk?
Any advise appreciated. Thanks!
