Bit disappointed today to find that upon running a full system scan Norton found 3 instances of this Trojan.
Firstly, I know little about Trojan's, so I don't know how dangerous this one is. I don't store any passwords on my computer, and am quite careful when I browse. I only ever do any banking immediately after running a Norton scan, which is what I was planning on doing today. Would I need to change all my banking info? The last full scan I did was on Thursday just gone, where Norton didn't pick up anything.
The reason for my disappointment however is that Norton allowed this virus in. I have never changed any of the Smart Firewall settings, and all my settings are really at the default Norton chose when I installed it. But had I not ran a full scan I don't think Norton would ever had alerted me. That is a major worry for me.
Secondly concerning my disappointment, is that Malwarebytes never found the Trojan's either. So many including myself have sworn by MB for many years, but since it updated to this new "Threat Scan" version, I have to admit to having lost faith in it. Now I have for sure.
I don't really know what to do now. I am running Windows 8.1 completely up to date with all security releases, and I'm about to boot to safe mode to run Norton, MB and the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool. Apart from this I don't know what else I should do. I certainly haven't noticed anything strange with my computer, so I'm hoping I have caught this Trojan immediately and no damage has been done.
Has anyone any advice at all on what I have said above? It would be greatly appreciated.
