Trojans Allowed Through Norton Internet Security

I just ran a full scan of my system with a different brand of anti-virus/anti-spyware software and found viruses that Norton missed.  I currently have two Trojans on my system despite doing full, daily scans with Norton Internet Security.

I have:

Trojan.Java.Blacole.b (v)

Trojan.Java.Generic (v)

How is it that the supposedly stellar Norton Internet Security missed these?

Hello...

Please don't use and not recomendate any other AV in the same machine, this is cause unefective the Anti Virus Performance.

Good luck

Hi Skyguy,

Something to remember is that no single security program can protect you from 100% of all threats 100% of the time. You may need expert help in removing the infections.

Register with one of the below Removal Forums to receive help in removing the infections. Stay with the expert that takes your case until your machine is cleaned.

What was the location of the files?

The files are in the path C:\Users\Owner\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache

Verify your system is free of nasties via a Malware Removal Forum

Delete Temporary Files through the Java Control Panel and remove check from Keep temporary files on my computer.

fwiw ~ uninstall Java

I run without Java w no problems.  If you ever need Java you'll be prompted to install.

Thnx

Don't be shy.  Tell us what product reported the nasties and tell us what version of NIS you're running.

Thnx
