Trouble installing Norton Mobile Security, register or log in glitch?, store bought product

I bought Norton Mobile Security from Staples for my android phone. It was running 2.2.1, LG-P500h model phone. I followed the instructions and downloaded Norton Snap from google play. Scanned the code. When I scanned the code, it showed a link plus the key (series of numbers and letters below the code. I clicked on the link. It said either to register the product or log in to my norton account. Since this is my first time using Norton products, I  clicked create/register an account, filled out the info, and clicked "Sign Up or In". However when I did that, it keeps taking me back to the register /create an account. I figured it was a glitch, was likely registered and tried logging in to my acccount. Nope keeps taking me back to log in to your account. I even tried the forgot password part to see if it was registered but never received an email. This keeps occuring and I cannot get past this. I downloaded the latest driver etc for my phone. It's now android version 2.3.3. The same thing keeps happening as above. By the way trying to do all the above on my phone( (using wifi)  and not a computer.   Help!

Perhaps it might be best to try and get access to a PC to set up the Norton Account

or to verify that the newly created one exists and is working.

There might even be a temporary server issue which is preventing you from creating

a new Norton Account.?

i am still having the issue as i cant add my phone to my account. This is a big outage. I hope this is resolved soon.

Yes there is an issue with registering new Android devices at the moment

which Symantec Norton are working hard to fix, more info here.

 

My first post was to assist you with creating a Norton Account, was that

successfull using a PC or diid you find success using your Android device.?

 

As there should not be any issues with creating a Norton Account.

 

So now hopefully you have a Norton Account setup for when the registration

issue with NMS is fixed then you will be able to install and activate your NMS

app, just monitor the forum for the latest news. :)

 

That was going to be the next lot of info that i was going to supply.

The issue with the servers over the weekend is now resolved and so you may like to try again.  Hopefully all will be well.

 

If not can you tell us what version number of Norton Mobile Security you have.  As I assume you have been given a registration code I would think that this should work with the normal version of NMS that can be downloaded and installed from the mobilesecurity.norton.com website.  So you could also try uninstalling what you got from the store and installing from the website, using your registration code to register it.  There is just a possibility if the product is very old that the code will not be valid.  Can you tell us how many characters there are in the code you have been given?
