When you view the details of what was downloaded and installed with LiveUpdate, does it list “Website Authentication Definitions”? This should have downloaded and installed already for you. Is anyone else still seeing this problem with the website, with the authentication definitions applied to their Norton product?
You’re right, this doesn’t seem to be fixed. We’re checking out the problem further, and I’ll let you know when there’s an update on this issue. Thanks again!
I do not see the "Website Athentication Definitions", but perhaps I am looking in the wrong place.

The false postive is not from the URL directly but from the Iframe of the URL where the description is hosted. On some Motors listings on the eBay site they have a new format and have an iframe. The actual description is hosted on a different URL.

eBay is apparently testing another initiative on eBay Motors to limit fraud on the site. Some listings are loading descriptions in a frame that are being served from vi.ebaydesc.com rather than cgi.ebay.com. By moving the listing description to its own domain, eBay can supposedly limit hackers' ability to use HTML and javascript to overlay other images or text on top of real eBay pages. Reportedly, if the initiative is successful, it could roll out to all eBay Motors listings by June.
Its the URL beginning with vi.ebaydesc.com that is the false positive I believe
Hope that helps
That explains why I am having issues. I use a competitors Internet security software on my laptop and didn't have any problems with it. Wonder why it didn't pick up on the false positive and Norton did? FYI I am now able to veiw listings in Ebay motors with NIS. Not sure if ebay fixed it or if the good people here did.
I really appreciate all the help from this forum . I wish I knew more about URL's and false positives, iframes etc. Perhaps if I did I would have to ask stupid questions and would be able to fix my own problems, or at least understand why I am having them.......
Thanks Again!
Steve
I apologize for not posting sooner. Another LiveUpdate fix was sent out to resolve the problem. Please let me know if NIS still reports it as a fraudulent site. Thanks!
the problem is resolved for me now - anyone else still having problems, run liveupdate and restart your browser.

Ahhh, everthing is right again in the universe. Thanks for the prompt fix.

I ran LiveUpdate and am still getting a Fraudulent Web Page Blocked message. Also, on the ebay motors auctions that I can get into I only get the top part of the auction page with no image of the item and cannot see any of the details of the auction. What should I do now????????????
Fraudulent Web Page Blocked
You attempted to access:
http: //promo.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewCategoryLis t&storeid=2856126&downgradeDomain=true
This web page is a known fraudulent web page. It is recommended that you do NOT visit this page.

FWIW that URL does not post here as a valid link as usually is the case and when I pasted it into my address box in IE7 it contained a lot of invalid characters and IE7 failed to get anywhere. And yet when I paste it in here it appears OK:
http: //promo.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewCategoryLis t&storeid=2856126&downgradeDomain=true
although there is a space after the s in List
Removing the corruption manually in the address box did take my to eBay but it was very slow loading the first image and I gave up.
