I found some old (1998-99) backup files that were created with Cleansweep 3. I installed the program from the original disk on my WinXP machine (the oldest Win OS I have available), and it starts and begins drive scanning, but won't let me do anything else while scanning is in progress. The program then shuts down with no error messages generated. I tried setting it to run in Win95 compatibility mode, but that didn't help.
Online chat was no help, since the tech just said that Norton doesn't have a product called Cleansweep anymore (Wikipedia says it's now part of SystemWorks) and referred me to Symantec's Enterprise Support. I'm an individual, not a business.
All I want to do is look at my old backup files. Is there any way I can do this without buying another product from Norton?
