Trying to recover files

I recently had a HDD failure. My files were last backed up on 11-22-2011 on Norton Ghost 15.

In attempting to do the recovery, the download gets to about 15% finished (per the bar) when I get a lenthy error message.

I have tried "retry" nothing; "ignore" nothing happens,     so my only option is to abort.

The message I get is "Cannot recover the file C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Applications Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\S-1-5-18\3a679951ebf2cb8'b34'c95e9ffe4a25_5f5e7d36-6046-49f5-b462-062elf459292'.

Error E7D1001D:Unable to open "  then above info is repeated for the 2nd time then states

Error 00000005:Access is denied.

What, if any, recourse do I have?

A little of both I think. Nov. 2011 was definitely file and folder backup.

If you have a v2i or iv2i file, you can use Recovery Point Browser to restore your files.

I hope someone from Norton is on this site. I called at 09:41AM, expended 90 minutes with your rep. only to find out at that time, I was not talking to the right rep. I was then transferred (after having my billing refunded first) to another department at 11:13 AM. It is now 2:09 PM and I am still on hold at this time. When should I expect someone to take my call on hold? I am approaching 4 hours on the phone on hold. I tried your chat only to get a virtual agent that obviously couldn't help me.

I

I can't take your call, as I am not a Ghost agent, but please let us know where the files are being stored, and what the contents of that location is. The error indicates that there is something wrong with the recovery point set. Take a screenshot of the contents of you backups, and we can go from there. Also, let us know if active Ghost backups are still occuring.
