Through forum searches, I understand this issue has been discussed before. The general response from Norton seems to be they would consider the request from users to be able to hide the Safety Minder notifications.
It appears those user requests have never been carried out, since I have just recently installed Norton Online Family on my teens PC, and I cannot disable the highly irrating and redundant notifications.
Why is this still not a user modifiable feature? ... I acknowledge the boilerplate answer already mentioned, but still cannot fathom why a user would not ultimately have the ability to turn these notifications off.
I currently buy and maintained 9 Norton Internet Security licenses/accounts for various immediate and extended family members. It is simple modifications such as this that Norton seems unwilling to resolve that will eventually lead me to another product.
Parents do have the ability to turn on/off notifications at Settings -> Notify online.
Thanks,
Katie
Katie, I think you are misunderstanding. We are talking about notifcations in the TASKBAR of the computer that is being monitored. On my PC it consistantly shows a pop-up saying "Your rules have been updated or are up to date, etc." It also shows a notification pop-up when ever I start my computer or sign in out of the computer sleep.
Our family uses this App on all of our computers (mine included), this this notification is particularly annoying to me, especially when I'm doing presentations with my laptop. I have attached a file of the redundant constant notification that I want to disable.
