Hi, my friend owns two seperate desktops (I own one desktop), and we live in the same home currently (using one wireless network connection), we both use one copy (for 3 computers) of NIS2009 on them. My friend however, surfs the web a lot, and is very uncareful about the websites he visits, he also doesnt know how to configure NIS or anything. Anyways, I've gotten quite a few threats that came from our home network, and obviously came from his computer (I do not blame Norton, they were really bad threats, and my friend was being very careless). So I was thinking about getting my own copy of NIS2009, I have the money and everything. But I was wondering, is it even possible to have two seperate NIS2009s working on one wireless network connection? Will my copy of NIS2009 prevent threats that come from his computer (using the network to get to mine), just as it would if we were both using one NIS09? My computer is very new (and very expensive) and I really don't want anything to happen to it because of a careless friend who uses my network, and I would like to have my own copy of NIS2009 to configure, and use to protect only my computer.
I am sorry if i'm being confusing, so i'll try to sum it up:
Is it possible for two seperate copies of Norton Internet Security 2009 to be used on one network(one that my friend uses to protect his two desktop computers, and one that I use to protect my desktop computer)?
If I do this, will the NIS2009 work perfectly fine to protect only my computer(I really don't care what my friend does to his computers)?
Thanks for helping,
Rex
