Hi all
My Norton Ghost version is 11.5.1, I am trying to clone Ubuntu Lucid(10.04) of my PC with the Grub2 bootloader and restore back, and got some problems.
Questions
1. Does Ghost restore MBR and boot sector of partitions when not in sector to sector mode?
I have 2 OS in my disk, one is Ubuntu Lucid, and another is Ubuntu 9.04, 9.04 installed Grub in a partition, not MBR
p.s I already formated my partition to EXT3, because Norton Ghost does not support EXT4.
2. If I use Grub1 instead of Grub2, then it will works after restored image, but still have a problem that uuid of swap partition is not be generated after restored, is the swap partition Ghost created the same as which Linux creates?
3. Is there any version of Norton Ghost can support EXT4/BTRFS and Grub2?
Reproduce Steps Of this issue
1. Boot from Norton Ghost.exe bootable CD-Rom
2. Clone (Local->Disk To Image)
3. Reboot
4. boot from Norton Ghost.exe bootable CD-Rom
5. Restore (Local->From Image)
Except Result:
Ubuntu Lucid is bootable
Actual result:
It only show black screen, and the MBR after restored is different with original, I thinks Ghost does not restore MBR.
