I have parental controls enabled on my computer by my parent but i can't connect to any websites using google chrome or internet explorer.

 

I can connect using programs such as skype,msn.

 

Any help would be appreciated

 

I am using a different computer atm to type this.

Besides Eset, do you have any other security products installed on the PC?

 

 

Are you able to access the internet if you uninstall Norton Safety Minder from the PC?

I don't have any other security product except windows defender. Once i uninstall the norton safety minder i can acces the internet

I have the same kind of problem.

 

I installed NSM (Norton Safety Minder) to my Asus Laptop with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9. Security software ESET NOD32 Antivirus 3.0.667.0

After installing, Internet explorer 9 can't access any website. Google chrome however still works. Also other internet connected programs still work! De-installing and installing again (3 times) din't solve the problem.

So my guess. Somewere is a probleblem between NSM and IE9. 

De-installing NSM solves the problem of accessing sites within IE9.

Installing NSM again blocks any site directly after completing the installation.

 

For your information: On all my other computers with Windows XP and also ESET NOD32 Antivirus 3.0.667.0 (With IE8.0 and firefox) NSM work fine!

I understand you want to wait for information from evelynemoussa. But do you already have an Idea of what it could be. As I like to use IE9 And that's the one that doesn't work. So i'm looking for a solution also

I removed eset smart security therefore don't have it, i have the latest version of google chrome, internet explorer but don't have firefox

While we are investigating the issue, can you please try to use  IE8.0 and Firefox 6 to see if it works for you (It seems working for user estinio)?

I have tried using the LATEST versions of firefox and internet explorer. It still doesnt work

The latest version of Firefox is 7 and Internet Explorer is 9.

 

The other user with similar issue in the thread is using  IE8.0 and Firefox 6 and they seem working for the user.  Can you please try these two versions to see if they help?

Okay,  Is google chrome also compatable?

The program supports Google Chrome, like blocking sites and time restrications, etc.., but doesn't monitor social networking.
