I want to backup using a Western Digital My Passport SSD 4TB drive. This is a portable drive using a USB connection on a Windows ten system. For all other purposes the drive works just fine, but when Norton Backup tries to access the drive, I get an error message telling me I should check to see if the drive is attached.
Norton by the way, has no problem with other WD SSDs.
When the drive is connected to your computer is it mapped to a drive letter in Windows Explorer? That is required for Norton's backup to find the destination device.
Jon. In the thread you opened prior, there was a question that wasn't answered before the thread automatically locked. You mentioned that you also use Norton Utilities. I had asked if you have Norton Utilities set to load any of its features when Windows boots. If so that can cause the issue you are seeing.
