Unable to connect Synolgoy NAS (both DS 418 and DS 923) on VPN

Issue abstract: I cannot connect to my NAS drive when Norton VPN is on. I have set up the split tunnel with Windows Explorer excluded. Any one can help me out? Thanks a lot.

Are you using the VPN feature of 360 or the standalone Norton Secure VPN? If 360, click on Privacy on the left, and click Open for the VPN. Click on the Settings tab and scroll down to Access Local Devices with VPN. Then test.

Thanks peter for your help. I have Norton VPN only. Yes, I had it turned on. Still not able to connect. Once I turn off the VPN, it connects.

Not that it is a suggested fix, but when you set up the split tunnel for Windows Explorer, did you exclude the explorer.exe file in the Windows folder?

After you do connect with the VPN off, can you still connect if you turn the VPN back on?

Are you only connecting to the NAS from your home network? If so, do you really need to use a VPN?
