Hi All,
This is a followup to the issue i had on this problem
My System:
I currently have a 320GB drive that has 3 partitions 1) a FAT32 Boot drive 2) a winXP partition 3) a win7 Partition
The Problem:
* I ran Ghost 15 from the Win7 partition and backup all 3 drives (c, d and j) and the backup runs without errors. (I have selected Verify recovery points after creation)
* I then try and restore the 3 partitions (one at a time) to a new 500GB drive and i get a number of different errors:
When booting with only the new 500GB attached, i can see the boot menu with both my XP and Win7 OS's listed. As mentioned previously i am unable to boot into either OS upon restore of the ghost images.
However if i boot via my Win7 DVD, and i click repair installation option. I am then able to boot into Win7.
So from within Win i then installed EasyBCD and i tried the following:
* Remove the entry for WinXP and re-add letting EasyBCD recofigure the options for WinXP
Upon restart of the system and selecting the winXP option i receive the message that hal.dll is either missing or corrupt.
My take is that either something happened during the restore image phase or for this reason this time, EasyBCD has written incorrection information on the Winxp partition.
Any ideas are much appreciated.
Jonathan
PS I should add that i restored my boot drive from an image i created 2 days ago. I will try and restore the boot image from when initially had the problem back in April.
