Downloaded and ran the installation file for Ghost 15. Everything seems to work fine right up until the last moment, then it gets the following error, rollsback and aborts:
I uninstalled and reinstalled C++ redistributables (both 2005, 2005 w/ATL security fix, and 2008), reloaded Windows 7, added .Net 4, researched this ad-nausea on the Internet and still cannot get this to install. I even executed some utilities that claimed to repair .Net 2.0, but even that didn't help.
Through my research, I found others that complain of the same problem. The bottom line is that I cannot get this to install no matter what, and I don't want to wipe my machine clean just to install a backup program.
I've attached the log file from the installation. I would like to use Norton Ghost for my backups so I would appreciate any help in getting this product to install.
Platform: Windows 7, 32 bit, plenty of memory and hard drive.
NOTE: The attached file should be renamed with the .zip extension. I could not upload the zip file and the log file was too big.
BTW: This is in the Windows event log:
Product: Norton Ghost -- Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {63E949F6-03BC-5C40-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}. Thanks!
