Unable to install Norton Ghost 15

Downloaded and ran the installation file for Ghost 15. Everything seems to work fine right up until the last moment, then it gets the following error, rollsback and aborts:

Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {63E949F6-03BC-5C40-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}. HRESULT: 0x800736FD.

I uninstalled and reinstalled C++ redistributables (both 2005, 2005 w/ATL security fix, and 2008), reloaded Windows 7, added .Net 4, researched this ad-nausea on the Internet and still cannot get this to install. I even executed some utilities that claimed to repair .Net 2.0, but even that didn't help.

Through my research, I found others that complain of the same problem. The bottom line is that I cannot get this to install no matter what, and I don't want to wipe my machine clean just to install a backup program.

I've attached the log file from the installation. I would like to use Norton Ghost for my backups so I would appreciate any help in getting this product to install.

Platform:  Windows 7, 32 bit, plenty of memory and hard drive.

NOTE: The attached file should be renamed with the .zip extension. I could not upload the zip file and the log file was too big.

BTW: This is in the Windows event log:

Product: Norton Ghost -- Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {63E949F6-03BC-5C40-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}. HRESULT: 0x800736FD. assembly interface: IAssemblyCacheItem, function: Commit, assembly name: policy.8.0.Microsoft.VC80.CRT,publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32-policy",version="8.0.50727.762",processorArchitecture="x86"

Thanks!

I temporarily diasbled Tamper Protection and still no luck. I previously had Norton Ghost 15 loaed on my laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium), running backups to a network drive. I shut off the network drive, thinking I would get better response time backing up to an external hard drive connected via USB. Then couldn't connect to the agent. Uninstalled the program, and tried to reinstall, but am getting the error noted. What do I do to reinstall the program?

mdanowit,

Did you try using the version in the link that vinod replied with?
