I decided to renew Norton and added the Lifelock protection, but I cannot download it. I read about the S mode, and I do not have it. I had no problems with previous versions, but Microsoft if blocking it for not being approved. I tried downloading a dozen times to no avail and ever stayed for hours with very nice people from Norton’s Customer Service. The last rep assisted me in downloading another Norton version (Deluxe) from the store, but at the end it did not work.

Thanks

AG

@anaglezc I think you are either not logging into the computer with an account that is admin credentialed, or, your UAC settings need to be changed. Please review this article:

So glad that you answered. I looked it up and I am shown as administrator and the bar is in the default mode. I never touched it.
Thanks
AGC

Which of these two settings are you using? The last setting is usually the default on Windows 11. If you are restricting your ability to install app ONLY if they are from the Microsoft Store that is the logical reason for the blocking.

Anywhere, but warn me before installing an app that’s not from the Microsoft Store, or, restrict yourself only to apps from the Microsoft Store by selecting The Microsoft Store only (Recommended) .

I did some research today and it appears that after so many attempts to download the program with the interference from Microsoft store, I ended up with 3 downloads. They do not show under my devices for this computer. Under installed apps, I have 3 downloads of 1,915 KB each, when I click on them, I get the same Microsoft store picture I was getting when I tried to download. There seems to be an option to run it as administration. I am afraid to mess this up further.

I would be grateful if you could give me some additional advice. You have been so helpful.

Thanks

AGC

Please delete the downloads you already have. Windows 11/10 in S mode or Windows 11/10 ARM-based devices. Require the app from Microsoft store to be compatible. Please follow this guide.

When launching the installer, if you are prompted to run as administrator do so. The app should begin to install, follow screen prompts to complete.

IF you do NOT have an ARM64 CPU or run in S mode, download the installer from within your Norton account. Run the installer the same as above.

If you see this or similar on Windows 11 when running the installer, click Install anyway. Run as administrator if required.

SA

Thank you AS, it is embarrassing for me to continue to bother you, but this is all messed up. The image that you show above is not what I get. When I try to download it does not give me the option to install anyway. I was able to download Norton Security which does not give me the protection that I get with Lifelock Select.

I did notice that I have many Norton related items installed in a folder going back to 2024 and even prior. These include Downloaders (2), Plugins, DSP Application, symcdefs…I was wondering if I should use a Norton Unistaller to remove everything. I am trying to see how I can take a screen shot and show you what I see in the desk
top.

I am sorry for so much trouble but you are the only one trying to find solutions.

Hope you have a good day.

IF I am correct you are running Windows 11. There should be a utility installed named “Clip Champ”. Open it and use to get a screenshot.

What is Clipchamp? - Microsoft Support.

When you have the screenshot ready, here is how to post it here:

Norton does have a removal tool ( for older versions ) that will remove ALL Norton products currently installed at once. INCLUDING the Norton currently running on the computer. The current version 25.xx removal tool, I am not sure of for removing the other things you are discussing.

SA

SA, it worked!!! You have no idea how grateful I am of your support.

Amongst all the Norton data or apps that I had installed in my computer going back to 2023, I had a Norton installer. I manually removed everything Norton related and then I used that installer. It installed MyNorton with all the features of Lifelock Select Plus. It did not go through the Microsoft store all all.

Thank you so much. I hope we cross paths again since you are an excellent advisor and wish you the best.

Most graceful,

AGC

As always, you are most welcome. Glad we could help!! And thank you for the kind words also. All the best to you and yours as well.
