Unable to Log onto Norton Support & More!

Hi All

 

I'm new here & totally at a loss.

 

We have a fully updated version of Antivirus 2008 & are planning to buy a laptop & would like to transfer our subscription. Easy if we still had our log on to our Norton account. The email we used was my husband's old work one that he no longer has (he left the company) but it's still updated in July via our credit card.

 

This morning I've tried to email Norton but it tells me that the product code isn't valid (it's straight from the Norton secruity box on our screen) so I can't even contact them! We live in the UK & I don't want to try phoning & live chat won't load.

 

Can anyone offer a solution please?

Hello Suzanne and welcome.

 

The product code you are seeing is different from the activation key. 

 

Generally when Norton Products are installed, a copy of the activation key is saved for you. Could you check under My Documents and look for a folder labeled Symantec. In that folder should be a .txt file named Norton Antivirus_Key. Your product key should be there.

 

Do you have a 3 PC license? If you have not used all your licenses, you can install NAV 2008 onto the new laptop using the same key.

I managed to get onto the live chat & a really nice person changed the log in details on the account for me so I can access it from my email.

 

We are going to attempt to put it on the laptop later. My husband knows a bit about computers (he used to sell them) so hopefully we'll be ok.
