In Sept 2010, I installed NIS2011. At renewal in 2012, I installed NIS 2012 over 2011. My expiration date is 12/26/12. I used the Norton Removal Tool and I did a clean install of NIS 2013.
1. It installed with no problem. Live updated until it was completely up to date . It activated. But when it asks you to sign in/Register an account, I entered my location, email address, and password, then I get the message "We are unable to proceed with Norton Account at this time. Please try again later." I have tried this 4 or 5 times already and get the same thing. I have restarted the computer 3 times and it still will not register. I already have an account since around 9/2010. I used that email address and password. My account shows my initial product, and my second product with the 12/26/12 expiration. How do I get this NIS 2013 registered into my account?
OK. I've tried 4 or 5 more times and got the same thing. I did a Live Update. It applied a patch. I still get unable to proceed with Norton Account. This has been happening since around 7:00 p.m.
If you already have a Norton Acount, you do not need to create another Norton Account to register yuor current product.
You said you did a clean install of NIS 2013. Where was the NIS 2013 obtained from? Purchased from on line - purchased through the Norton Store, purchased in a retail outlet? When you installed it, at any point did it ask for a new product key?
Also, if you have NIS 2013 installed, on the main page, click on Support and then Subscription Status - does it show the same number of days left as the main page shows? You stated 366 yesterday and 366 today - which sounds like a a new 1 year subscription has been registered.
Ah, I wondered if that was the case. My Account does not show this NIS. It only shows two. It shows my NIS with a 12/26/12 expiration date. That is the one I just uninstalled. It also shows the NIS the year before as expired. But it is not showing this one I just installed.
I purchased a CD on Amazon, New, for only $25.48 (Norton Chat said to renew was $69) because I'm on dialup. It took 2 1/4 hours to do three LU's. When I installed it, yes it asked for the product key. I entered it. It said it was activated. Then is when it asked me to create an account, I believe it was then.
It has changed to 365 days now. When I posted earlier this morning it did still have 366.
So am I good then? Even though it is not showing up in my Account.

First of all, the subscription days counting down sem to change at what appears to be a random time for each user - some feel it is in conjunction with the time of day you initially installed the program. But the count down is normal and also appears that the program is in fact registered and active. This is a weird situation - I certainly hope you purchased the CD from a reputable seller on Amazon.
I think the best bet in your situation may be to contact Live chat, explain the situation to them and they should be able to assist you, or get you in touch with someone who can get this straightened out for you. Have your product key handy, as they may ask for it.
I purchased it from Amazon, LLC. Not a reseller. On my receipt it says "Sold By Amazon, LLC". I wouldn't order a program or anything of this type from a reseller.
Weird situation? LOL. Murphy's Law.
What needs to be straighted out. Not being listed in my Account you mean?

Absolutely - I do believe Live Chat can look into your Norton Account and see what is going on! It shuolod be listed, just like your other "old licenses are" and it appears it is functional since it shows the days remaining etc.
No I'm not signed into Norton Management. It still says Get Started. I never activated that, so to speak, cause I don't have other devices. Just my home computer.

Hi Yank,
I couldn't find the Quote. Used Chat and they did exactly what I did and it is now listed in my Account. Took a while on Dialup but its there.
Thank you and all for your help. Really appreciate it.
