Have you tried: Open Norton 360 > Help/Support, Help & Support > and Run the Auto-Fix Tool?  If so, what happened?  If no, please could you Run it and let us know what happens.  Thanks!

Since malware is often a problem in scanning failures please try this.

Please run a SysProt log for us so we can check your system for rootkit activity. You will need to disable Norton auto-protect while you run the scan.

Once it is downloaded to your desktop, right click on the SysProt icon, go to properties, and click unblock and apply.

Choose log, check all the boxes except show hidden objects only and scan.

You will be able to post the log here using the "add attachments" link just below the orange post button.

i ran the sysprot n im running norton 360 v3…heres the log

and  to floating_red…that process didnt work …it just made it freeze n say not responding

SysPront didn't work properly,   If using vista  as well as disabling Norton, Right click Sysprot.exe and select "Run as Administrator"

Hi

It's not the harder Rootkits

Please download  Gmer, http://www.gmer.net/     and do a scan,  (right click admin again for Vista)

heres the gmer scan

OK it's not showing as any rookit.

Have you tried Malwarebytes and or SuperAntispyware free??

Quads

no i havent use neither or

Ok   Download, malwarebytes   Install, Update the definitions and run a Full Scan http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/

Even if it only finds 1 or 2 registry entries that set disablement.
