Unable to upgrade from Systemworks 2005 to Systemworks premier 12

I have spent all day trying to upgrade from Systemworks 2005 to this Systemworks Premier 12. I kept running into to the following error message and couldn't get past it. I attempted this install but no change to error message after running the MS install.I did download Norton Removal tool to remove 2005 and GoBack. I am running Windows XP, have sufficient RAM and disc space.

 

Error: "Failed to install required components. Please contact technical support" while installing a Norton product.

Download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package

 

Click one of the following depending on your operating system:

Windows XP/Vista 32-bit: Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

 

It's been about 8 hours, now. At hour 3, tried installing only the NAV, but then as soon as the NAV installed, it froze my computer. So I went in under safe mode and uninstalled NAV, hoping that running the CD from scratch would allow me to install SYSWorks from scratch. I've tried a few more times but cannot get SYSworks to install first. NAV is now installed and working, but would like to have entire system installed and working together. Have tried to find answer all over the Norton Community, but can't seem to find anyone with same issue.
