Understanding NAV2008 full protection

Those who are on here frequently know that I can get very worried and run down rabbit trails easily, because I don't understand all this very much

But I think I have an overalll picture of how this works. I like to share for the new people who get worried like me.

I understand that even in the older product like NAV2008 there are multi layers of protection,

So even if some connection is allowed to my computer, the other  ayers (anti virus, spyware, etc) that NAV2008 possess, will counter and stop these malicious items from causing damage

so lets say that my firewall allows an IP to connect to my computer and gives permission for UDP or TCP connection to be made, or even allows this outside IP to access some of my exe files. And if this IP meant to harm me, the other layers of Norton NAV2008 protection would stop anything from going down, once it was clearthat there was malice going down

so there is the "firewall", then the untrusion protection, etc
