Uninstal Kaspersky

There are 2 files that Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) will not let me delete.  Thus Norton internet Security won't install.  What do I do to completely uninstall KIS?

You have tried Start > Control Panel > Add\Remove Programs? If that didn't work completely, try the Kaspersky removal tool:

Hello

If that doesn't work, please delete any remaining folders that you may find. You can also try ccleaner and delete things connected to kaspersky, but please back up before using that and be careful of what it may delete if there are .dlls which may also be used by other programs and hooked up to kaspersky. Are you using anything with Roxio installed? Thanks

Hi tcourbat,

Even if you uninstall Kapersky via the control panel (add/remove programs) you should still run their removal tool before attempting to install NIS.

Best wishes.

I uninstalled KIS 2011 yesterday and could not believe how quickly it went. I used this link:

Download Kavremvr1.0.131 and run the .exe file. Enter the code as displayed in the image and Click the Remove button. It literally was that easy...I was skeptical but tried and it went fine. It is for KAV or KIS 2011. I then loaded NIS 2011 via CD and all smooth!  Believe it or not....I am using Windows 7 X64. Good luck!

I DO have a Roxio program installed - Roxio Creator Premier.  Is there a conflict with Roxio as well?

Thanks so much,

Tom

Hi Tom,

Did you run the Kapersky removal tool as indicated? The only problem with Roxio is that one user reported a problem where Roxio had to be reinstalled after running the Norton removal tool which you are not needing to do.

You should run the Kapersky removal tool and then see if NIS installs OK.

Best wishes.

Allen
