Uninstall Free Anti Virus before reinstall Norton

I had Avira free anti virus before purchasing Norton 360.  I uninstalled Avira and then installed Norton 360.  Later Avira did a  computer return to former time which eliminated the Norton installation.  Now I cannot uninstall Avira and reiinstall Norton.  What do I need to do?  Thanks, NES4293

Hi NES4293,

 

First things first - I would suggest you go to the following link, download and run the Avira Removal Tool.  This should rid your system of Avira. It sounds like you can ot get to Avira to remove it through the Control Panel - but if you can, remove it from there prior to running the removal tool.

Next try to run the Norton remvoe and reinstall tool :
