Uninstall Norton 360

Hi all

Please can you tell me how to completely uninstall Norton 360 from my laptop as I want to install a new product (not Norton)

I am not very good wth computers so would be grateful if you would make it as simple as possible:smileysad:

Norton 360 version 2.0

Windows Vista

This removes only Norton 360.

It removes everything most of the times. Since the 2010 versions the uninstaller is much more effective then previous versions.

Hi,

Firstly, if you use Norton Identity Safe, please back up a copy to somewhere you can find it.

It seems there is some sort of problem there.  I'd try restarting your computer then try uninstalling again.

You could download the Norton Removal Tool to your desktop and run that to uninstall N360, but it may not save your settings.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks,

Dave

We did not use Norton Identity Safe since we do not do banking/shopping online, and I dont like putting all my passwords in one basket.

I was worried about restarting the computer in the middle of the uninstallation if it would cause problems with only part of the program being uninstalled.

I will try the Norton Removal Tool, if I loose the settings, I do not mind too much.

Well, I let the regular uninstallation attempt to continue overnight, it never got past the stage and restarted the computer.  I tried the NRT and it took about 3 hours before it finally completed the uninstallation.

It's very odd that it took that long, but I am glad you were able to uninstall eventually.  Thanks for letting us know.

Here you go:  http://www.norton.com/nrnr

You want to use Advanced Mode > Remove Only.
