I used NORTON Chat Help and they reinstalled NAV 2012 but all the pprevious settings remained as did the fault I wanted resolved. So I uninstalled NAV, ran the Norton Removal Tool ran Reg Cure and reinstalled NAV - all the previous details remained despite my product key not being input at any stage of the above process. How can I completely remove NAV 2012 to do a clean reinstall and, hopefully, remove the problems I've been having which are - on the NAV start window the Support link the Get Support link does not work and Autofix does not load AND the Symantec Outbound Connect V4 Callout error which intermittantly shuts down my internet connection.

Welcome,
Norton calls home as part of the install procedure and the server confirms that you have a valid subscription and activates your copy without the need to retype the key.
Your previous settings should be eliminated when you do a control panel uninstall and select the choice that you will not be reinstalling the program. We know you will be you must tell the computer that you will not in order to get it to uninstall all of your settings. If you are using the indentity safe besure to save that data before starting any of these other activities.
From what you are describing as the problem it may not be your Norton product at fault. Which scans have you run? May I suggest you download, install, update and run from the desktop Malwwarebytes free scanner.

It's Norton compatible and makes a good second opinion scanner when you aren't quite sure all is well. Do run a full scann with your Norton product before doing anything buyt saving your identity safe data. If Norton and Malwarebytes give you a clean bill of health then it may be a faulty install of the Norton product.
Please post back with your results
Thank you for your rapid response. I downloaded and installed malwarebytes and there were no problems found. Looks like I'll need to try another re-install NAV to see if the problems can be fixed that way..

Try your full system scan in Safe Mode. Sometimes malware can hide behind running Windows processes.
If the scan is clean, it is time to remove and install again.
Download a fresh copy of NAV here.
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool from here. Reboot.
Install NAV from your newly downloaded copy.
Be sure to run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
Let us know how it goes.
