Uninstall of System works fails

I'm trying to uninstall Systemworks 2006 and seem to be caught in a Catch 22.

Using the original CD when I try and uninstall I get the error "#25032 Windows has configured... and then the error goes away but it is related to Ms Dos.  I'm using XP Pro.  Error keeps disappearing before I get all of it copied.  After that, I get install failed gathering info and that runs for 20 mins.  Then installation encountered an error and was unable to remove the application.   9999,172.

 

So then I try the Norton removal tool and get the error that GoBack has been detected and must be disabled.  I click yes to disable and get "Unable to communicate with Go Back Device Driver "

So now Goback is still there through Systemworks so I try and disable Goback through Systemworks options and get the same driver error message.

 

I've been screwing with this for days now...my next step was to try and fix the install that won't uninstall by trying to reinstall the program over it.  It tells me it has detected a previous version and must restart the pc.  I do that, rerun install and I'm right back where I started in paragraph 1.  I then have tried to disable Goback through the options menu and once again get the same driver error message.

If I remember correctly, Goback makes changes to the master boot record and partition table.

I think those need to be reversed first.  I think you were supposed to disable goback before trying to remove it.

I saw systems where they would show a boot screen and you could enter a menu to disable it and I think there was also a boot cd to help you fix it.

 

Please be careful and wait until somone familiar with program can help you.

I highly reccomend that you do not try to proceed until then.

Also, while your waiting if you can backup your important data without having to install new software it may be a wise idea.
