Toshiba laptop with Norton internet security trial version installed. I need to uninstall it to install ESET (company policy). I have uninstalled it from control panel, rebooted, run the norton uninstall tool, rebooted, to no avail. Tried multiple times in varying orders, every time I run the ESET installer it says norton internet security is still installed. Tried bypassing the message before and the laptop crashes. I've tried taking the laptop back to factory multiple times and it still won't uninstall. Any help would be appreciated.

I just downloaded and installed Norton Internet Security from the website since I am allowed to run it on this additional computer. Do I need to uninstall the trial version, or should I just let it expire in 30 days?
Welcome,
A trial version is a full version with a short subscription. Normally, if you already hold a subscription and have a slot available all you need do is click on support and then subscription status to have it activate with your key and for the duration of your subscription.
If you don't run into any problems, just ignore the fact that there was a trial copy. If you start seeing problems I'd suggest running the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool to clean up the copy on your computer.

Thanks for the input. There was nothing in the download instructions prompting me to remove the trial version, so I thought the install would take care of that. For all I know, it did. I don't know how to check the number of Norton Internet Security programs that are running on my computer. My account shows that now I have no slots available for a download, so I don't want to run the Norton Removal Tool. I will update this thread in a little over a month when the trial version expiration date has passed.
When you install a Norton program it will either alert you about an existing program, or remove and replace it. Norton will not allow two separate versions to be installed together.
