I am having some strange things happening to my PC, and I'm starting to put together a picture, but I need help. Until 2-6-14 I have had the comcast version of NIS 20 on my PC. Without my knowledge I was upgraded to 21.1.0.18. Now when my system starts, if I open task manager there are two N360.exe processes running and I can't turn either one off. One is running under username and the other is running under system. In the firewall program rules there is something listed as system system. I assume this is both N360.exe running at the same time. Also when my nephew is playing his xbox, he keeps getting disconnected, and then reconnected.(We use the same wireless router.) He was disconnected again tonight but this time he could not reconnect. We ran the network check from the xbox and it says the xbox to router connection is good, but the router to internet ISP is not there. As I was checking my system to see if that was the case I noticed there were several instances of this in my security history. An ip address disappears from my network adapter, then I am connected and protected to a newly detected network adapter. (ethernet NIC) Then it protects my connection to a newly found adapter (This time it's the router and not the ethernet NIC.) but the IP addresses are not the same. I am assuming that this is where he is disconnected. The firewall rules were updated at 6:43 PST. and he was permanantly disconnected at 6:46 PST. In the forums there have been similar mentions of these things (two icons on the taskbar.) but not quite the same. The last time I had this much trouble with Norton I had to troubleshoot and find a solution by myself because the support techs could not help me. Fortunately I have the help of the forums this time. Running Windows XP SP3 on an e-machines PC with an ASUS USB-N53 router.
