Unlock passcode

Hi, iam new to this. My question may be simple. i need to test the lock mesage,  if passcode is 1234 then sms 'lock 1234' locks the mobile. And then if i need to unlock my phone means, what password i should enter, whether its that same passcode '1234' or some other. Since i am not sure, i am afraid to test the lock message. And the option "Security Lock' in 'Anti-theft' , what it does exactly? please any one help me

Thank u so much for ur guide. one small doubt, u said as 'unlock 1234' to unlock the device, whether it has to be sent from other mobile or i need to type this in my mobile lock screen? If to type in my mobile lock screen, whether i need to to type only the passcode '1234' or as 'unlock 1234'. I am sorry if it looks silly question. And i already bought the paid version. But afraid to try the lock option.

Hello again ethiestbalaji.

The advice to use "unlock 1234" was in response to your question about SMS messages.  To unlock on the device itself you just enter "1234" (or whatever your code is).

Thanks Andmike :smileyhappy:

I have turned my phone on after a couple of months switched off. It keeps telling me its locked because there is no simcard in it however i have still been able to phone my 'buddie' to text unlock for me, recieve thier text and speak to my Norton buddies however it refuses to unlock for general use?! Argh HELP?!

Hi LeaHodson

Welcome to the Norton Community.:smileywink:

Have you tried the steps to unlock using the buddy system for both of the earlier versions

of Norton Mobile Security (NMS) in case you have the earlier version 2.0 which uses a

different method to version 2.5.?

The info for unlocking using the buddy systems with both verions ( version 2.0 and 2.5 ) can

be found in Norton Mobile and Tablet KB Forum link below -
