My wife plays word games on her iPhone and she has Norton mobile Security installed.
Whenever she plays it seems that something triggers Safari to want to go to a web site something like "adtracking.mobi" that NMS says is unsafe. Although Safari does not open, there is always a Norton warning page and a notification. However, Safari seems to have no record of a search
I dont understand what is happening and want to stop it
Unfortunately, there is no user accessible logs available in the iOS version of Norton Mobile Security.
But as the user noted, Norton did block the redirect attempt to the point it did not even open the browser. Which also explains why Safari has no record of the attempt to open a web page.
Hello Philcath. Apple has a discussion on iOS and ad tracking settings here.Safari, provides protections on its own so you should be able to block adtracking.mobi within those settings. Norton mobile security, has three main features: Wi-Fi Security, Web Protection, and OS Alerts. You should be able to see the block activity within your activity logs in your NMS app to gather information there.
Cheers
You do not have to worry, Norton already blocking these kind of attacks. I’ve too experience with these ad injected websites. Norton as well as Browser itself block these malicious sites.
Nowadays most of the games linked with advertising sites to earn extra money. Try to check your games settings if available turn off ad display or do not play free games. Also online games have similar ad related issues. Use adblock instead to block ads on Safari or download paid games from store.
