Ghost alert: "unsafe site" "we recommend you do not use this site"
I keep getting this alert message popping up on my phone - sometimes 3 or 4 times in a row. Often it happens when I'm not even using the phone - it's just laying on my desk. The problem is, other than the Norton logo and the messages quoted above, there is nothing else on the alert (like "see details" for instance) - nothing I can click on that will take me to any more info. If I open Norton 360 app, it's not showing any issues - everything is OK. I've tried clearing iPhone storage for Safari, but the alert keeps coming back (although I'm not even sure it's a Safari problem). My iPhone 14 iOS is up to date and I've restarted a couple of times.
It's becoming quite annoying. How do I: a) figure out what's causing it and b) stop it?
Were you able to determine which tab/website was causing the alert?
I wish Norton would provide more useful information when you click on the alert, such as which tab/website was the culprit. "Unsafe site" "we recommend you do not use this site" is not very helpful.
The issue seems to be resolved now. No new alerts after closing the Safari tabs.
My guess is that one of the tabbed websites was deemed "suspicious" by Norton, and that tab would occasionally phone home to check with the site's server. Norton saw that communication and sent the alerts. Once the tab was closed, the issue was resolved.

Don't know how many tabs you have open, but if you can close one or two at a time and monitor for the alerts it will help to identify the web site that is being flagged.
Update - The ghost alerts started up again today. I have 2 browsers, each with several open tabs. I'm guessing Norton doesn't like at least one of the websites on one of the tabs. I closed all the tabs on one browser this evening, and will see if that stops the alerts.
What you may be seeing is some app on your device 'phoning home', maybe for updates. Unfortunately there is no user accessible logging available to look back on what has happened.
As there is no way to clear the 360 app data on iOS except to uninstall, I would suggest doing that. Then restart the phone and reinstall 360 and see if you still see this message.
