Whilst viewing "Nine.com.au", a site run by Australia's largest media company, I was diverted to the site shown in the attached file. I did not respond, as it looked extremely suspicious. I must say I have experienced other unwanted diversions on this site recently which have been blocked by Norton.
I have run Norton Power Eraser, but still get unwanted diversions.
Is this adware and if so; how do I get rid of it?
I'm running the latest version of Microsoft Edge, Current version of Windows 10 and Norton Internet Security.
Thanks for your help bjm, very much appreciated. Yes to all of the above mentioned steps. Now all the diversions are being blocked, but still annoying. I'll contact Norton about whether I can transfer my current subscriptions to Norton 360.
In the meantime I'm making Google Chrome the default browser.
Thank you bjm for the advice. I downloaded and installed Malwebytes which found and quarantined 4 files. However I still get diversions to adware. It's interesting that if I open the same website using Chrome I don't seem to get these diversions.
JavaScript is used to redirect to malicious sites. While most modern sites need JavaScript to display properly, you can selectively block or allow JavaScript on a site-by-site basis which will prevent third-party sites from redirecting your browser.
