Unwanted LAN scans by NAV2009-Gamer

Hi....newbie here. Thanks for whatever info' you can provide. I hope to be able to do the same in the future.

I just loaded a trial version of NAV2009-Gamer Edition. During my first full scan, I noticed that a drive letter "M" was being scanned. Since I have only one hard drive in my PC, with only a "C" partition, I was confused.........until I realized that one of the PCs on my 4-PC LAN has an external drive "M" connected for backup purposes.

I questioned Norton via the on-line chat option regarding why NAV2009-Gamers would scan another PC located on my LAN......to which they responded, "It won't".  When I told them that I was watching it scan the drive (in real time), I was told, "It can't be".

I poked around inside NAV2009-Gamers for awhile, and found what I thought would solve the problem.  Please know, scanning any of the other PCs in this LAN "IS" a problem........a big problem.

In short, after learning that the program will go out onto a LAN to search for any PCs that have "a" Norton product loaded, I envoked "Remote Monitoring" / Computer Discovery / "Off". This unfortunately did not work; my "game" PC is still scanning mission critical work-related PCs on the LAN.

Any ideas?
