Update Download Manager or Smaller Update Files

I suggest that Norton consider including a Download Update Manager in their Live Update service of the Anti-Virus program.

Here's why:

I currently live aboard a boat in Palau - which is in the remote western Pacific Ocean. The internet service here is painfully slow at times and very slow the remainder of the time. I believe this may be true in other parts of the world where lack of financial ability limits the available service bandwidth (which is the case here). Not everyone has DSL service or other lightning fast service, and 60-80 mb of updates can take a long time. With the addition of 'server connection resets' and service interruption, it can take me an entire day to download the virus definition updates. I have followed some suggestions of using a third party download manager (Fresh Download and also the add-on for Firefox) and downloading the update from the Norton download service and still have the problem of losing the update while it is downloading and having to start the download over from the beginning. This is very frustrating, especially when I've invested a lot of time to get to, say, 80% of the download and lose it!

I think it would be great to have the updates downloadable similar to the way Windows updates operate; that is, once the download begins and is interrupted for any reason, when the download is re-started the download resumes where it left off with nothing lost.

Otherwise, perhaps there is a way to make the definition downloads smaller or break them down into multiple, smaller files for those of us who don't have the speedy links?
