Updated but still on 19.2.0.10

I ran live update and it told me to restart the PC so I assumed that it was the 19.5.0.145 patch. I restarted the computer and it was still on 19.2.0.10. Does anyone know why this happened? I would be thankful if anybody could help me with this.

Hi SlamDunkley,

Please run liveupdate repeatedly  until it shows " your Norton product has latest updates" and reboot whenever it requires.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes?

Thanks,

Senthil

Got the same issue. I'm using NAV 19.1.0.28. And I got a new folder with files:

C:\Program Files (x86)\NortonInstaller\{0C55C096-0F1D-4F28-AAA2-85EF591126E7}\NAV\562C4DD5\19.5.0.145

Btw This is a non english version (dutch)

Hi DeHollander,

As of now the 19.5.0.145 patch is  available for all English users

Please see more information here

That's what I was doing all day until finally I was told by Norton to restart. I restart and the version number remains the same. I really doubt anymore updates are going to come through. I don't feel I should reinstall my Norton Intenet Security because I installed it on a freshly installed system just a few weeks ago.

Depending on which updates you have installed, you may need to reboot/run LiveUpdate a few times before you're at 19.5.

I'm not using a english version. So why do I get this update ??????

Just updated  another machine that has a non english version 19.2.0.10, and the same thing happens, the update has a size off 26,57mb. And the same folder appears.

Because eventually we'll update all languages. That's why you got that package via LiveUpdate.

dont mean to jump in on another thread but i to have the 19.2.0.10 version even though i ran live update 22 times in a row and rebooted 4 times?even click on new version check and says i have newest version?

Hi brihy1

Check for new version will work only if we release New version of NIS e.g. 2011 to 2012 and not for Live updates.

Thanks,

Senthil

I've tried more than a few times, and it still not showing me 19.5

I’ve also kept running LiveUpdate and it always says I have all the latest protection updates… but I’m still on 19.2.0.10 … hmm.

Can't the Norton team just release a exe file of the 19.5.0.145? It would be much more simple

Thought I'd join in as a fix is needed.  I have updated (once) and rebooted (a few times) on both my Win XP SP3 computer and my wife's Win 7 computer. History on both show the new NIS Product Update was successful but both still show 19.2.0.10.

I am seeing the same problem. I have done LU numerous times. I have rebooted when it told me to. I am still on 19.2. Is there anything else Symantec can screw up? Sorry for being rude but I am really mad. I'm on a trial version and I am getting closer and closer to uninstalling NIS 2012.

Hi all:

FWIW, I had one update today in which I had to reboot and it still remained at 19.2. I think this was an "incremental" patch.

Then I forced a Manual Live Update and was informed that another product update was downloaded and had to reboot again.

NIS still remained at 19.2 after that reboot. Then I checked Live Update and was asked to reboot once more.

After the 3rd reboot I was finally at 19.5. Keep an eye on Live Update, as there is no automatic notification in NIS.

Atomic_Blast :)

It seems to be fixed now after a manual  Live update (13.81 MB).  "NIS Resources"  in the list requires restart and takes a while to install after restart and the systray icon doesn't appear for a while to the point where I thought there was still something wrong but eventually appeared and now shows 19.5.0.145.  Same things happened on both my XP and Win7 computers.

The patch update needs two steps:

-- first : the download of the new Engine release (19.5)

-- second: the activation NIS file download one/two days later. This step needs a reboot and delete the old 19.2 folders.

I’ve run LiveUpdate numerous times now and even rebooted just for the hell of it… and it always says I have all the latest protection updates… can somebody tell me why it still hasn’t upgraded to the new 19.5 yet?? Thanks.

Hello Vortexfugue

Are you using the English Version?
