Updates on Vista 64 Issues?

The context-click scanning item is not an available feature when run on Vista64. Don't expect a 'fix' for it any time in the near future.

 

The LiveUpdate team is aware of the issue where users sometimes don't receive notification when patches that require a reboot are available. They currently planning the fix and deployment. I don't have a timeframe of when this should be available, but I don't expect it to be within the next couple of weeks. Note that this is not an issue in the 2009 products that are currently in Beta testing.

 

As far as the regular updates is concerned, I don't have much information about that although I vaguely recall that there was an issue where the user interface wouldn't update despite having received the current information. You may wish to restart the system to see if a new date is presented, or, look directly in the LiveUpdate logs to see what activity has occurred.

Thanks for the update Reese.  While it seems odd that right-click scanning is that tough a nut to crack, I'm not about to argue with the people who know the underlying code :smileyvery-happy:  The shell:sendto workaround does the same thing anyway, so certainly not a crisis.

 

With regards to the LiveUpdate reboots, thank you for that information on a fix.  Even if its a month out, I can keep clicking the LiveUpdate icon when I login for the interim.  I love how 2009 is starting to look, but this is my primary home machine - No beta products on principle here :smileywink:
