Upgrade 2008 to 2009 (NIS and NSW)

Hello everyone,

I have NIS 2008 and NSW Basic Edition 2008 (Version: 11.0.2) installed with about 1 month left on my subscription.

I would like to upgrade to NIS 2009 and  NSW Basic Edition 12.0

There is an earlier thread about this issue ---> HERE

But even after reading through it a few times I am still confused.

In the above mentioned thread there is a link to this upgrade page --> Norton Internet Security 2009 + Norton SystemWorks Basic Edition 12.0 Upgrade

Is that upgrade for someone like me with NIS 2008 and NSW Basic Edition 2008 currently installed?

Or do I need to purchase/download elsewhere on the website?

I also have several other questions about this upgrade:

1. What to uninstall?

 a) In Add/Remove programs there are 3 entries: NIS 2008, NSW Basic Edition 2008 and LiveUpdate.

Do I need to uninstall all three?

 b) I also have something installed called Symantec Technical Support Web Controls.  Do I need do uninstall it

before going on with the upgrade?

 c) There is a program called CheckIt Diagnostics. While It appears to be a separate program, I can also open it through

Norton SystemWorks. Do I need to uninstall CheckIt Diagnostics before installing 2009 upgrades?

2. Which one do I have to install first? NIS 2009 or NSW Basic Edition 12.0

3. Will I need to re-install LiveUpdate separately?

4. Once NIS 2009 and  NSW Basic Edition 12.0 are downloaded and installed,

do I activate them using my current product keys from 2008 products or will I get new product keys?

Basically what I need is a step by step guide on how  to move from NIS 2008 and NSW Basic Edition 2008

to NIS 2009 and  NSW Basic Edition 12.0

If you are able to help please do not ommit any small details.

Your help is greately appreciated.

Thank you, Alex.
