Upgrade failed

I was having a minor problem with NIS, so I clicked the "Get Support" link.  The program asked if I wanted to update the software to the 2012 version, so I said yes.  The updated software appeared to be working properly after it was installed, but when I clicked "Get Support" again to ask about the original problem, the program said the installation had failed and suggested I run the Uninstall & Reinstall software.  However, I don't believe I have any version to reinstall.  The original software came preinstalled on the computer, and the only CD I have is a System Recovery disk.  What do I do now?
