I have used Norton product for decades, however I am surprised that Norton do not give all the user the same benefits.
I have used Norton utilities among other software from Norton and was expecting that I also would go under the " Eligibility for Norton Utilities Premium as a loyalty gift". Which gives the user of Norton 360 + suscription a free upgrade to utilities premium with no charge.
However even this is given in most regions in Europe, Norway is not stated. I am shocked that some countries should not be included when they have sold the same product in the region.
This is something I hope Norton will change at once, it is not fair that some countries should end up as a secondary region in a Global society where the same software is sold.
Last time I was charged by GBP was in 2019. All the other is bought through Norton Norway. The utilities last version was bought in 2014 Norton Norway
The 360 I bought this year with subscription. However the Requirement as mention is fulfilled by subscription. But in the country list, Norway is not listed among other countries within Europe that will have this benefit.
And from the legal point of view Norway is more and less when it comes to software included in the laws that is up to date in the European Union due to economic agreements.
That the way it is and I will not pay a annual fee for the Norton premium, I will rather change to another software company for that kind of service.
And it is very often better to download directly from the US and buy it there than locally, due to currency exchange rates. I have always used Norton product with English support since I feel it is much better.
As JJ_ noted above, there are import and export restriction laws on technology. Have you actually been able to purchase from the US Norton web site? Many Norton products are geo locked so you cannot use a US product in a European or South American country. The product will not activate.
If your 360 product has been installed and working, do you have the Automatic Renewal feature turned on in your Account. That is the requirement to be offered the 'free' version of the Norton Utilities Premium. There is no connection to whether you have had Norton Utilities in the past.
I have had the utilities last version, then it stopped. However since they can offer it online and they have a global customer group it should not be a problem.
I have notified Norton support customer service about the problem and they should bring it upwards in the hierarki , and I guess that will be the last of it.
However it is not a problem to buy utilities online premium from norton, however then you have to pay an annual fee
The solution that should be offered from Norton is that all the customer which had the Norton utilities should gain the same benefits if they met the subscription demands. It appears that Norton does not even list its Utilities product line on its Norway site. This may be due to either US and or Norway's Gov restrictions on import/export of controlled technology. You can always contact Norton Support and inquire as to its availability in your local area.
