Upgraded to Norton 360

I recently upgraded to Norton 360 there is old Norton Security left on my computer that Norton Remove and Install left behind and my program updater states that Norton Security needs updating I cannot delete these files as Norton says You require permission from Administrators to make changes to this file. Any help appreciated.

Bobie4plus, when you said

Norton says You require permission from Administrators to make changes to this file.

When you run the Removal Tool, are you logged into an account on your computer that has admin privileges? Did you perform a remove only scenario as instructed in this article using the portion labeled " I need help removing Norton"? Reboot, THEN reinstall your product?

Cheers

bobie4plus The best thing to do sometimes is to call Norton tech support. My problems have always been solved rather quickly there.

Hello JJ_  I have tried all of your suggestions also tried using Revo Uninstaller it shows all the Norton Security files being deleted but when I check they are still there. I think they are being protected by Norton.

Hi bobie4plus,

Have you rebooted your PC since this upgrade?   Also, if you're running Windows 10, you might want to disable Windows Fast Startup.  See Norton GURU Peterwebs article Here
