Hi. I dont think this is the right section but i didnt see one for norton ghost. Please move this to the right section
Any ways i am trying to upgrade my hard drive.
A 320 gb to a 1tb in an hp dv6 1245dx. I did a cold backup using the srd to an external drive, took out the old internal drive put the new one in. I think i formated the new drive as a simple volume with no drive letter. Not sure if i was supposed to. I did this with the new drive hooked up via sata to usb.
Booted into the srd to restore to the new drive. I recovered the recovery D drive first. Which i thought i read somewhere to do. Then i restored the windows vista C drive. That was the only two partitions on my disk via disk management.
Rebooted and i get the preparing desktop then blue screen. Where it says cannot find rundll32. Now the local disk says its D when it should be C when i control alt delete to task manager. I read i can change the registry from here to C but it cant find regedit.
So im thinking because it was formatted or because i restored D first this is happening. So is there any way to fix this or do i have to swap back drives and start over?? Thanks
