Urgent- can't login to gmail chrom. It times out

It seems like access to my gmail, specially from chrom is significantly being affected after installing Norton Utility. It used to be ok until I have installed Norton. But gradually after installing Chrom, the performance and logging to gmail gradually got worse and worse. Today, I can't even log in. I get the error : 

Error 7 (net::ERR_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out. I was able to log in only once today, after I rebooted my computer.

 

With regular IE browswer, the login process is extremely slow as well, but it works eventually.

 

This problem of gmail on chrom happens with both of my gmail accounts. But both work ok on IE browser, although after very long and slow login. 

 

This problem persists even after cleaning the cash. I have read somewhere that Norton does not allow chrom to work and one need to enable Chrom in Norton setting. If so, then why the yahoo mail works ok using chrom? So it seems like it has to do something using gmail on chrom then.

 

I am really confused. Anyway, if I have to allow Chrom on Norton setting, how would I do that?

Where are you getting the errors? In the browser or in Norton?
a. What other security you have at the moment?
b. What security program you have before Norton?
c. Was there any malware infections Norton or another software detected?
d. What operating system do you have? Is it 32 bit or 64 ? (Right click on my computers and select on properties)
e. Open up the Norton gui and go to help and then hover on about. Report back the version number.

In addition, what happen if you restart the browser (close all the browser windows and then re open. I know that gmail tends to time out/not respond from time to time but restarting the browser usually solve the problem.
