To test the norton ghost 14 restore, I did the next best thing and used my recovery diskette to restore a recovery point set created from an external usb drive. The restore was successful except when I booted up my computer again, no drive letter was assigned to the external and I had to do so via disk management.
My concern is that I was given no options whatsoever to choose a different target drive or modify any of the restore parameters. After selecting the recovery point set, the only option I had was to click "Finish" or go back to the previous screen where I selected the recovery point. Where are the options to modify the restore parameters as mentioned in the following paragraphs from chapter 14 of the user guide?
5 If you need to delete a drive to make space available to restore your recoverypoint, click Delete Drive.
When you click Delete Drive, the drive is only marked for deletion. The actual
deletion of the drive takes place after you click Finish in the wizard.
If you change your mind before you click Finish, go back to the Target Drive
page of the wizard, and then click Undo Delete.
6 Click Next, and then select the options that you want to perform during the
recovery process, as follows:
Verifies whether a recovery point is valid or corrupt it
is restored.
This option can significantly increase the time required
for the recovery to complete.
Verify recovery point before
restore
Checks the restored drive for errors after the recovery
point is restored.
Check for file system errors
after recovery
Automatically expands the drive to occupy the target
drive's remaining unallocated space.
Resize restored drive

I did not see any of the above? Any ideas why?
