Hi,
I'm experiencing a problem with my installation of NIS (latest version) that not even a clean install resolves (I have used the Norton Removal Tool as per instructions on support pages). Everything runs smoothly for the first few days, but inevitably LiveUpdate will fail to update (or at least, NIS is reporting that there have been no updates installed for hours, which I know isn't the case). When this issue arises, I can't reboot or shutdown my PC (stops responding at the shutdown screen).
So maybe it's the installation media (CD; and clicking on Support does actaully report an installation issue that the tool then fixes). I would like to try downloading NIS from the my account page, but I see I need to use a NIS download tool first, which I believe downloads and installs the product. I'm a bit concerned as to how this works (I would prefer to be disconnected from the internet before installing NIS), so I would appreciate if someone could advise the steps involved when using this tool.
