Using the Norton Driver Updater caused my laptop to lose normal sound function. How do I fix this?

I subscribed to Norton Driver Updater this morning. After running the Updater, I noticed that I was unable to adjust the sound volume. Prior to running the Updater, sound control functioned normally. Now, the sound is almost inaudible. What do you suggest to remedy the problem?

Note: I am using Windows 10 on an HP Envy laptop.

Hello, bjm_ well, it may be me, link did not open on front page of Norton update drivers. Therefore, I was not able to follow instructions either. Phone Norton technical support & nice guy sorted me out in less than 10 mins. & indicated steps, if there is ever a next time.

If Norton documentation does not help:
