I have recently bought the latest 2012 version which runs great but have bought laptops for my kids (2) for Christmas and when hiding them in the attic (the laptops not the kids) , I noticed that I have a brand new (but old) still sealed 3 user edition of Norton Internet Security 2008 in a box. I think i was given it as a present and didn't use it as I had already bought a version a month earlier and then placed it in the attic and forgot about it.
My question is can I install the new Norton 2012 on their new laptops and use the licence key that I have inside the retail box of the 2008 product or is it now expired a bit like my brain cells ?
