USING WINDOWS 10? check for Updates = NOW! ADOBE FLASH

Yet another 'zero day', = very urgent, fix for Adobe Flash.

If you've Windows10 you'll get the update within 24 hours if you wait for the 'Automatic' Update - but why wait. 'Check for Updates' and you'll get it straightaway.

Hi g_arm. Yes - mine arrived on the 15th December as part of build 14393.576.

Windows Updates History is here: http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4000825/windows-10-update-history

so is it now processing of the December updates without issue of delaying the installation?

Hi Taff

Perhaps there's hope for them yet .....

Hi Hugh. When I first went to that link and saw the list of updates I was pleasantly surprised. Whenever Microsoft had previously screwed up on a WU - eg KB causing problems - which was hurriedly withdrawn/replaced, public reference to the faulty KB was generally airbrushed. This is is the first recent list that shows warts & all.

@g_arm: Which version of Win10 do you have, and which build? Has the WU finally been installed?

Hi Taff

Unless I'm mistaken these included one more example of an update causing problems and being withdrawn and then reissued so .......

I eventually got my Windows 10 Update. Perhaps the problems were to do with the fact that MS had to push through several changes in a matter of days - November too. Check out the update history and you'll see what I mean:

anyone know if this hang time issue has been resolved?

Good News, courtesy of IJustHelping on the MS Community is that MS are on the case:

Hi both - I've had problems in the past with the so-called Automatic Updates and had followed with much interest the touching of swords between bjm and someone on the MS Community but until now - I think - this hasn't happened when I've initiated the Update.

Regarding Chrome, I don't like it - could be that I'm used to what I'm used to - if that makes sense. But I may change having been delighted to read the article. Well done Google Chrome. Cojones that  Microsoft should follow  - it would improved their standing in the likes of Qualys

I used to laugh when I saw an expert describe Flash and other Adobe products as 'chocolate teapots' but not any more. Why are they allowed to continue with such a poor product?

Consider using Chrome?

Google Chrome now running HTML5 by default, replaces Adobe Flash player

No problem for me last night when I told my Win10AE laptop to ignore the "don't do it I'm busy" setting and let it run until it did its thing with reboots etc.

DON'T BOTHER.

and this time I can't blame Adobe Flash.
