Utilities 16 and SSD's

Hiyas,

Is there any way to teach Norton Utilities 16 not to look at optimizing SSD's. The nag (about Defrag) is becoming very tiresome. The old PC Tools utility managed to recognise the drives as SSDs. I am surprised a supposedly superior product can't manage this.

Norton Utilities 16 shouldn't be recognizing SSD's as drives which can be optimized. Can you please tell us what OS you have (i.e.; Windows XP SP3 32-bit, Windows Vista SP2 32/64-bit, Windows 7 SP1 32/64-bit or Windows 8 32/64-bit)?

Hi,

NU16 should be recognizing your SSD and skipping over it.

Please see the screen grab below (system drive is SSD) - It does'nt.

Have you tried clicking on the grayed link under Recommended Actions?

 

My NU 16 has a blue link that will start the defrag. The grayed link may not work as it IS recognizing the SSD.
